Under the K is operated by North Brooklyn Parks Alliance, a parks conservancy that has transformed, maintained, and advocated for public space throughout North Brooklyn for more than 20 years. Opened in 2021, the park is the latest innovation in our long history of sustaining our community’s hard-won public spaces.
The Native Nursery at Under the K is an evolving lab for cultivating community and biodiversity, growing thousands of new plants from seed every year for local parks, schools, community gardens, and neighbors. We carefully select each native species for its role in boosting local resiliency: some excel at thriving under harsh urban conditions, others benefit local pollinators, and many help the ecosystem adapt to the impacts of climate change.
